what to do in & around the Lodge
Bushland Park Lodge & Retreat offers the bush & beach experience in a variety of attractions onsite as well as in the Coromandel Peninsula region. With its unique New Zealand glow-worms in the Lodge’s private spring water grotto, just three minutes easy walk away, the outdoor double slipper bathtub surrounded by infrared heating for year-round use, the Scandinavian sauna, the onsite glass fusion studio, the organic vegetable garden for the Lodge’s excellent cuisine, makes the Lodge a memorable destination in its own right. Personal hosting and the addition of a European character by the owners further enhance that experience. Guided day-tours can be arranged by prior booking.
Whangamata is situated on the East Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula and offers "NZ-Bush and Beach" at its best with safe swimming and extensive walks on white sandy beaches or the Wentworth Falls walking track through pristine rainforest on the Lodge's doorstep.
Golf enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with two courses close by the Lodge. Your hosts will assist you with arranging your T-offs and a set of golf clubs. Another dozen golf courses are within easy drive, among them Matarangi (designed by Sir Bob Charles) or The Lakes.
